Grant Thornton sponsored the Summit CFO Idea Exchange&Networking Event,  which was organized by Centras Insurance on March 4, 2015 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Forum 2015 CFO Summit attracted 350 heads of large organizations and leading experts from different sectors, who discussed current financial and socio-economic issues in Kazakhstan. The main objective of the Summit was to create a platform for discussion of the issues of the economy and to help participants to find common solutions, strategies and business improvement ideas.

Particular attention was drawn to hot financial issues such as possible devaluation of tenge and de-dollarization of economy, tenge liquidity deficit, gains and losses of Kazakhstan’s entry into the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) during such panel discussions as “In anticipation of devaluation in Kazakhstan”, “De-dollarization in Kazakhstan” and “Devaluation of trust in Kazakhstan. Methods of treatment”, where Serik Akhanov, Chairman of the Management Board of AFK, Oraz Zhandosov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of “Kazakhstan Association of Economists”, Umut Shayakhmetova, Chairman of the Management Board of “Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan” JSC, Kairat Mazhibaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Resmi Group, and other well-known leaders and economists expressed their views and opinions.

Gains and losses of Kazakhstan’s entry into EEU were examined by leading experts such as Zhannat Ertlesova, Chairman of the Managing Board of the Association of Taxpayers of RoK, Askar Karimullin, Deputy Chairman of the Board of “Kazyna Capital Management” JSC and many others.

Besides, CFO Summit covered such issues as modernization of the pension system of Kazakhstan, behavior of companies during crisis, and how to implement KPI system in the companies.

Yerzhan Dossymbekov, Managing Partner of Grant Thornton, took part in panel discussion “Methods of KPI implementation in the companies” and expressed his opinion, based on both international and local experience.
