Along with the list of the wealthiest business people, Grant Thornton Kazakhstan published an article titled ‘VAT or Sales Tax, that is the question’ in the latest issue of Forbes Kazakhstan magazine. The article raises one of the burning issues – ‘plans of Kazakhstani government to withdraw its Value Added Tax regime, which will be replaced with a Sales Tax next year’. It describes the pros and cons of Sales Tax regime as well as examples of other countries implementing such tax regime.
