While working at Ernst & Young (1999-2002), Deloitte (2002-2003, 2005-2006), and Grant Thornton (2011-now) Yerzhan was involved in assurance and consulting engagements with number of large companies including Samruk-Kazyna (National Welfare Fund), Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Railroads), Kazpost, Samruk Energo, KEGOC (Electricity Grid), DAMU, Zhilstroysberbank, ArcelorMittal Temirtau (Steel Plant), Chagala Hotel, TengizChevrOil (TCO – large oil and gas JV in the Caspian region), KPO (Karachaganak oil&gas field), KazZinc, Jambyl Cement (Vicat), Sas-Tobe Cement, UlarUmit (pension fund), EBRD PIUs, KazMunaiGas-Service, Tekhnodom (home appliances retailer), KulanOil, Tabynai (oil & gas), Global Development (real estate), KIMEP and many others. Yerzhan also has significant industry experience. In 2003-2005 as a Finance manager he controlled cash flows and accounting in marketing and transportation of crude oil for PetroKazakhstan (SEC listed company), including assistance with set up SOX framework. Prior to joining Grant Thornton (2006-2010) Yerzhan was a CFO of a large financial group, which included banks, insurance, cash management, agents and other companies. As a Group CFO he managed budgets, reporting, consolidation, management remuneration, KPI setting, internal audit and other duties.
